Dr. Joy V. Poskozim and staff are dedicated to provide dental excellence. We are passionate about providing long term solutions for optimal dental health and beauty using modern technology in a warm and friendly environment.
It is our mission to focus heavily on a preventative long-term approach to help keep your natural teeth and gums in top condition and treatment to a minimum. We are highly skilled at dealing with nervous patients and have techniques to care for them and offer a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere only treating one patient at a time. We also offer alternatives and recommend options to help you make an informed decision, but leave the final decision firmly with you. We pride ourselves in continuously educating the whole team and invest in new technology to provide you the best in dental care. Joyful Dental Care was named “2010 Corporate Citizen of the Year” by The Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce.
Joy Poskozim, DDS, FSCD, CDP
Dr. Joy Poskozim wanted to be a dentist in the eighth grade when she had her braces. She was fascinated by her teeth moving into place to have a nice smile! It took 3.5 years, but once they were off, she knew dentistry was for her. The oldest of four, Dr. Poskozim grew up in Park Ridge and graduated from Maine South in 1990. She then attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI because this college had a dental school on campus. Joy sat in one dental class and was hooked. New York University College of Dentistry became the school for her, staying in New York City for 6 years.
She completed a General Practice Residency in 2000 at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, then worked in Manhattan for one year. After working at various general dental practices in the Chicagoland area for two years, she settled at a family practice in LakeView for four years as a cosmetic dental associate. In 2006, Dr. Poskozim found a practice in the Sauganash area of Chicago on the Northwest Side.
Joyful Dental Care was named "2010 Corporate Citizen of the Year" by the Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce. Joyful Dental Care has also earned the "NextDoor Neighborhood Favorite Dentist" for the Edgebrook, Lincolnwood, and Sauganash neighborhoods for the years 2017-2020.
Dr. Joy Poskozim earned her Fellowship with the Special Care Dentistry Association in 2020 for her ongoing efforts in bringing dental care to senior communities and those that are home-bound.
In 2021 Dr. Joy Poskozim earned her certification as a Dementia Practitioner.
Dr. Christian Caicedo MS DMD
Dr. Christian Caicedo grew up in the northwest Chicago-land neighborhood of Elmwood Park. Dr. Caicedo obtained his degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry receiving his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and earned a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Chris graduated with honors and he was one of just two dental students in his class to win the Dr. Adalbert L Vlazny Award for Excellence in operative dentistry and clinical skills and he was the only student to win the Dr. Stanley Tylman Award for Exemplary complete oral treatment to the highest quality in patient care. He also received the Student Achiever award and the Student Leadership award for being the first Latino President of the student council at UIC College of Dentistry.
Dr. Chris provides high quality care for his patients and enjoys helping them restore their smiles back to a healthy state in a comfortable manner. In his free time, Dr. Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends and you can probably find him trying different cuisines at various Chicago-land restaurants.

Dr. Julienne Hong, DDS
Dr. Julienne Hong grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan but always wanted to experience the east coast. She attended Boston University and enjoyed getting to know the city before returning home to Michigan to obtain her DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.
Dr. Hong enjoys seeing everyone in the family from children to adults. She prioritizes gentle and compassionate care, and will help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. Dr. Hong also participates in continued education courses so she can provide the highest quality treatments for her patients.
In her spare time Dr. Hong enjoys being with her husband and bernedoodle puppy. She also enjoys cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants in the city.
